Jammu, Mar13: In response to a question raised by Duleep Singh Paribas in the Legislative Assembly regarding the lack of road connectivity in several rural villages, the government reaffirmed its commitment to providing road access to unconnected habitations.
In an official reply, the Minister stated that ensuring road connectivity to rural areas has always been a top priority. Several villages including Shardoran, Shankhola, Stanzas, Terraby, Basela Pant Bala, Taps Bale, Renal Role, Channa Tatoore, Karan Chal, Dhallan Chaknoo, Hela Lanka, Golandros, Hola Bhola, Shales Jaksoon, Dhalankan, Sharad Gona, and Jason are currently without road connectivity.
The government has already connected habitations with populations above 250 as per the 2001 Census under previous phases. Now, under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) Vertical-II, efforts are being intensified to connect all such habitations as per the 2011 Census data between 2024–25 and 2028–29.
The Detailed Project Report (DPR) preparation and habitation survey are underway. Most of the villages listed in the question have been identified to qualify under the new phase of PMGSY and are being considered for sanctioning.
Additionally, the Ministry assured that remaining unconnected villages will be covered under other schemes such as MAPARDIUT in a phased manner.
