Srinagar, Feb 28: The government on Tuesday has ordered for the change in the school timing in Srinagar city.
As per the official document, the timing of the schools in the Srinagar city has been fixed from 9am to 2pm from 1st March 2023.
The schools are set to reopen from March 1 after a winter break of more than two months.
The order by Under Secretary to government, School Education Department reads, “I am directed to convey approval of the department for change in school timings in Srinagar city from 9am to 2pm w.e.f 1st of March 2023.”
To ease the traffic congestion in the city, the Traffic Police Department Srinagar had recommended to the School Education Department to change the timing of the schools that fall within the city limits. Considering the bad conditions of the roads due to the construction work going on in the city, the recommendations were made by the traffic department.
