Govt committed to welfare of specially-abled: VC DDC Kupwara

Kupwara, July 28: Inclusive Education Wing of Samagra Shiksha in collaboration with ALIMCO (Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India) on Friday organized an aids and appliances distribution camp for the children with special needs of Khumryal zone and Sogam zone at Government BHSS Khumryal here.

The camp was inaugurated by Vice Chairman (VC), District Development Council Kupwara (DDC) Kupwara, Haji  Farooq Ahmad Mir in the presence of DDC Kalaroose Chowdhury Mustafa Rahi.

While interacting with the specially-abled children, the Vice Chairman said that the administration is committed towards the welfare and upliftment of specially-abled persons.  During the camp, 59 CWSNs (Children with Special Needs) were provided relevant aids and appliances as per their needs already assessed.

The aids and appliances distributed include tricycles, CP chairs, wheelchairs, smart canes, hearing aids, elbow crutches, etc. Deputy CEO Kupwara, Manzoor Ahmad Bhat, Principal BHSS Khumeryal, Nazir Ahmad Khan, ZEO Khumryal Farooq Ahmad Khatana, ZEO Sogam Mohammad Yousaf and District Coordinator Inclusive Education Javid Ahmad Wani were present on the occasion.
