Srinagar, Mar 12: The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Wednesday announced the proposal for a spur road from Chadoora to Kandijan via Charisharief, covering a distance of 20.80 kilometers, to connect with NH-444. Currently classified as an intermediate lane, the road is slated for enhancement to a two-lane configuration with paved shoulders, pending approval from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India.
In response to a query raised by MLA Ali Mohammad Dar during the Assembly session, the Minister in charge PW R&B department indicated that a recent recommendation had been received from the MLA representing the Chadoora Constituency. This recommendation pertains to the preparation of a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the first phase of the four-laning of the Srinagar Charar-i-Sharief Yousmarg Road, extending from Natipora to Chadoora town, a distance of 12 kilometers. The proposal is currently under review.
