IPD services to be made operational within 3-4 days: Official
After sanction accorded for shifting of pediatric services of GB Pant hospital, Sonawar to 500-bedded Children hospital, Bemina Srinagar, the Indoor Patients Department (IPD) services in the newly constructed health establishment will be made operational within three to four days, an official informed Rising Kashmir.
“The work is almost near to complete in all departments. The OPD services are also partially operational in the hospital. However, IPD services as well will be made operational within three to four days”, the official said.
Medical Superintendent (MS), GB Pant Hospital Srinagar Dr. Nazir Chowdhary while speaking to Rising Kashmir said the teams constituted for monitoring the pace of work in the hospital are regularly meeting and ascertaining the developments. “We are visiting and meeting on regular basis to ensure early completion of the work in the hospital so that hassle-free IPD services will be made operational soon”, Dr. Chowdhary said.
He said the hospital is having partial OPD services from sometime and receives small number of patients on daily basis. “Once the patient flow will increase, the services will also be enhanced accordingly”, he said and added, “The full-fledged services in the hospital needs coordinated infrastructure and facilities upon which the administration is working on”.
“As of now, the GB Pant hospital receives 1300 to 1500 patients in OPD on daily basis. The newly 500-bedded hospital in Bemina will ease the burden and downtick the figures”, he said.
He said both pediatric hospital – Sonawar&Bemina – will function together to ensure quality healthcare services to the patients.
