Srinagar, Nov 13: : Minister for Education, Sakina Itoo on Wednesday that the recruitment of teachers, lecturers, and assistant professors will commence, regardless of whether the process is conducted through the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) or the recruitment board.
Speaking to the reporters, Sakina Itoo said that there has been no recruitment policy implemented in Jammu and Kashmir for the past five years. She confirmed that the recruitment process for teachers, lecturers, and assistant professors is set to begin soon, whether through the DPC or the recruitment board. The selection process will be initiated shortly, and work on the recruitment policy will also commence in the near future.
During the event, the topic of children’s mental health was discussed, highlighting the mental health challenges faced by the residents of Jammu and Kashmir, particularly in the Kashmir Valley. Issues such as depression and anxiety affect individuals across all age groups, including children, youth, and the elderly Itoo emphasized the urgent need to address these concerns, particularly in light of the rising drug addiction problem, which has become increasingly challenging. She expressed the government’s readiness to take necessary measures to tackle these issues.
When asked about upcoming government initiatives, Itoo said that the event focused on children’s mental health, and efforts are underway to enhance mental health services at the district level. The aim is to ensure that mental health facilities are accessible into all districts of the Jammu and Kashmir, with medical professionals actively working in this area to provide the necessary support.
