Jammu, Feb 25 : A two day Intra-District Volleyball tournament was hosted at SPPND GDC Samba on Tuesday. The event was graced by Prof. (Dr.) Twinkle Suri, Principal of the College as Chief Guest.
The tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation from GDC Samba, GDC Vijaypur, GDC Ramgarh and GDC Ghagwal. The Tournament commenced with an exciting final match between the semi-finalist teams from GDC Samba and GDC Ramgarh. The match ended with a decisive 2-1 victory for GDC Samba with second and third positions being bagged by GDC Ramgarh and GDC Vijaypur respectively. The Principal congratulated the winning team for their exceptional performance and appreciated the participants for their sportsmanship and encouraged them to continue pursuing excellence in sports alongside their academic endeavours. She stressed the importance of sporting events in enhancing social connections, life skills and physical well-being. The officials of the match who supervised the game were Abneet Sharma and Ashwani Kumar. The whole event was coordinated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pankaj Bandhoria, Convener Sports Board and Mr. Pradeep, PTI. A formal vote of thanks was presented by Associate Prof. Meenakshi Thakur, Co-Convener Sports Board.
