GCW Udhampur celebrates Vishva Sanskrit Diwas

Udhampur Aug 22: Government College for Women(GCW) Udhampur
celebrated VISHVA SANSKRIT DIWAS with great zeal and enthusiasm in the college campus.
While Speaking on the occasion, Principal of the college Dr. Nalini
Pathania applauded the students of Department of Sanskrit and for
their participation and HOD Sanskrit Dr Om parkash for organising such
a program and wished that such programmes would be held periodically
to aware all the students of the college about the Sanskrit language.
She talked about the role of Maharishi Panini in shaping and
organising the grammar of Sanskrit which made it a world known
scientific language.
Dr. Pathania also said that Sanskrit language is now being on the
revival mode, everyone is now interested to learn Sanskrit.
Dr Ajay Kumar Sharma while his address talked about the history of
Sanskrit language.He said that all the religions scriptures of
sanatana are written in Sanskrit. He said the Sanskrit is one of the
favourite subjects opted in foreign countries, the people there are
more inclined to it.
It is it’s scientific nature that it is considered as best computer language.
Dr Mukesh Kumar physical Director also addressed the audience.
Earlier, HoD Sanskrit Dr.Om Parkash presented key note address in
which he highlighted all the aspects of Sanskrit language like
employability. He said the the present turmoil in the society is due
to lack of knowledge of Sanskrit language among the masses . He said
that Sanskrit leads to the righteous living.
The students of Sanskrit department also spoke on the importance of
Sanskrit language, some students recited Sanskrit shalokas.
