Srinagar, Nov 28: Runners in the city came together to make a small albeit significant contribution to children with leprosy by participating in `Road to Give’ on Sunday morning.Organised through the 125 hotels of the Marriott group across India, the run was conducted by Four points by Sheraton Srinagar.
Participants from the event took part in Run, Ride and talking a walk raising awareness for the Rising Star outreach foundation for children with leprosy.
Rising Star Outreach has dedicated itself to improving the lives of people affected by leprosy, through social and medical rehabilitation. Marriott home, one of the pioneering efforts of Rising Star Outreach of India started in April 2004, with a small rented home for 27 children from surrounding leprosy colonies. In the same year, Marriott India joined hands with Rising Star to form the Marriott home in Chennai.
This is a run for awareness of leprosy and an opportunity to contribute to a noble cause. Each year, Four Points by Sheraton Srinagar conducts the event in the last quarter of every year, however, given the impact that Covid 19 Pandemic had on businesses, majorly the hospitality sector, Take care events like these had taken a back seat. Now that business has rebounded and as part of our social responsibility we took this stride to continue the legacy Marriott International has carried on for a year in the regions where they operate, said Shahid Khan Hotel Manager Four Points by Sheraton Srinagar.
