Chairs strategic security review meeting in Kashmir
Says BSF troops show exceptional dedication, bravery along borders
Srinagar, July 14: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, NityanandRai, chaired a high-level strategic security review meeting at the Frontier HQ of the Border Security Force (BSF) in Kashmir on Sunday.
The meeting, attended by senior BSF officers, focused on assessing current challenges and formulating future strategies to enhance security in the region.
During his two-day visit to Kashmir, the minister reviewed the security situation and operational preparedness along the Line of Control (LoC).
A BSF spokesman told Rising Kashmir that on Sunday, a strategic security review meeting was held at BSF headquarters under the chairmanship of MOS NityanandRaiand its focus was on enhancing intelligence capabilities.
“It also highlighted inter-agency coordination, and community engagement to ensure holistic security in the Valley,” he said.
Minister Rai emphasised the crucial role of community cooperation in maintaining peace and promoting development. He urged local leaders and citizens to actively support security initiatives, highlighting that such collaboration is vital for the region’s stability.
Commending the BSF troops’ dedication and bravery, Rai stated, “Their relentless efforts are pivotal in ensuring the safety and security of our nation. The government is committed to providing all necessary support to enhance their capabilities and welfare.”
On July 13, Minister Rai visited forward locations in the Niru-Gurez sector, where he interacted with field commanders and troops, gaining first-hand insights into the challenges faced by security forces operating in these areas.
The minister was on his two visit to Kashmir to review the security situation and operational preparedness along the Line of Control (LoC) in the region.
