Srinagar, Aug 18: The Department of Youth Services and Sports Anantnag today organised a District Level Fit India Run in which staff and students participated with great enthusiasm. The run commenced from Mominabad Crossing and concluded at Donipawa Crossing, spreading the message of fitness, health, and unity. The event witnessed active involvement of the youth, reflecting their commitment to adopt healthy lifestyles in line with the objectives of the Fit India Movement.As per a statement issued here, on the same day, the Zonal Physical Education Office Verinag launched a series of Anti-Drug Campaigns at various religious places across Verinag. The initiative aimed at raising awareness about the ill effects of drug abuse among the youth and community. As part of the campaign, the Activity Incharge of ZPEO Verinag along with staff members visited Darul Aloom Verinag where students were sensitised about the harmful consequences of drug addiction and were encouraged to choose sports and positive activities as alternatives. It is pertinent to mention that both initiatives reflect the commitment of the Department of Youth Services and Sports, Anantnag towards fostering physical well-being, mental health, and social responsibility among students and the larger community.
