Jammu Dominates J&K UT Softball Championship 2024-25

Srinagar, March 27: The J&K UT Softball-Baseball Championship 2024-25, organised by the J&K Softball Association in collaboration with the J&K Sports Council, concluded today at Bakshi Stadium, Srinagar, with District Jammu securing the Senior Men’s and Women’s titles.
Championship Highlights
Over 500 athletes from 14 districts across Jammu and Kashmir participated in the three-day event, competing in multiple categories. The winners in each category were: Senior Men’s Softball: Jammu (Champions), Pulwama (Runners-up), Srinagar (Third place), Senior Women’s Softball: Jammu (Champions), Srinagar (Runners-up), Pulwama (Third place), Junior Boys: Srinagar (Champions), Samba (Runners-up), Pulwama (Third place),
Junior Girls: Udhampur (Champions), Jammu (Runners-up), Kulgam (Third place), Sub-Junior Boys: Srinagar (Champions), Udhampur (Runners-up), Samba (Third place).
Sub-Junior Girls: Srinagar (Champions), Anantnag (Runners-up), J&K Softball Academy (Third place), Baseball Junior Boys: Udhampur (Champions), Pulwama (Runners-up).
Baseball Sub-Junior Boys: Pulwama (Champions), Udhampur (Runners-up).
The closing ceremony was attended by Dr Iqbal Hussain Wani, Deputy Director, Industries and Commerce Kashmir, as the chief guest. Other dignitaries included Nusrat Gazala, Divisional Sports Officer Kashmir, Mushtaq Ahmad, Managing Director, CP Advertising Company Pvt Ltd; Mushtaq Ahmad Zargar, Senior Manager, J&K Sports Council; and Hilal Ahmad, Deputy Manager, J&K Sports Council.

In his address, Dr Wani praised the J&K Softball Association for organising the championship in a professional and befitting manner. He assured continued support from the J&K Sports Council to further promote softball and baseball5 in the Union Territory. Following the event, the chief guest distributed medals and trophies among the winners, runners-up, and third-place holders, encouraging them to further hone their skills in the sport.
Vote of Thanks
The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Waseem Raja Khan, General Secretary, J&K Softball Association, who expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, participants, and supporters for making the championship a success.
