Srinagar, Aug 12: Dryland Agriculture Research Station, SKUAST-Kashmir, Rangreth, Srinagar, under Holistic Agriculture Development Project on Rainfed Area Development, organised a capacity building programme for farmers on “Waste to Wealth: Conversion of Organic Waste into Bio-fertilizers for Enhancing Soil Health”.As per a statement issued here, around 50 progressive farmers of District Budgam participated in the programme. The programme was intended to impart theoretical and hands-on training to farmers about means, methods, legalities and marketing of organic produce. In the opening remarks about the event, Dr. Seerat-un-Nissa, Training Organizer gave overview of the programme viz-a-viz potential benefits for the farming community. Dr. M. Ashraf Bhat, Associate Director Research gave an overview of various activities carried out at DARS Rangreth under rainfed ecologies. He told farmers to adopt SKUAST-K generated Technologies to combat harmful effects of climate change.
