One dead, two injured in Kulgam road accident

Kulgam, Apr 09: A bike rider was killed and two others injured after having an accident in the Khuri Batpora area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Saturday evening, officials said.
An official said the accident took place at the ITI crossing in KB Pora when a Tata Sumo, coming from Kulgam to Manzgam, hit the motorcycle, resulting in injuries to three people. They were rushed to a nearby hospital.
“The injured were taken to District Hospital Kulgam, where two among them were referred to SKIMS for specialized treatment. However, one among them lost his life,” he said.
The deceased has been identified as Mohammad Rafiq Malik, son of Abdul Rashid Malik. The injured persons have been identified as Bashir Ahmad, son of Abdul Ganie and Mushtaq Ahmad Malik, son of Ghulam Qadir Malik. All of them are from Khuri Batpora.
Police have registered a case with FIR number 16/2023 under sections 279, 337, and 307 of IPC and started further investigation.
