Srinagar, June 25: J&K BJP General Secretary Organization Ashok Koul on Sunday said that the historical decisions and reforms taken by the Modi government placed India among the top nations in the world.
He was speaking as the chief guest at the “Intellectual Meet” at Tagore Hall here. He said the Modi government had always prioritised inclusive development by focusing on the economic development in Jammu and Kashmir.
Koul highlighted Prime Minister Modi’s “remarkable progress” achieved in the past nine years, particularly after the abrogation of Article 370, such as infrastructure, healthcare, and education, which has significantly benefited the people of Kashmir.
“Intellectuals were the soft power of our nation and their guidance and opinion help in giving the right directions to the plans and programmes of the government. Every intellectual appreciates the Modi government’s public welfare initiatives and it was really great to listen to this positive feedback,” Ashok Koul said.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister of State & Chairperson J&K Waqf Board Dr Darakhshan Andrabi said, “This was the first government to remove the ailments from the working system. Many unwanted laws were removed in order to make the lives of people more comfortable. Inclusive and equitable growth of all Indians is the aim of Modi Sarkar and during the past nine years the actions proved it.”
“It was our government which ensured grassroots democracy in J&K for the first time,” Dr Andrabi said. She assured that the party expects now early assembly elections in J&K.
“Those who are blaming us for shying away from democracy denied three-tier local body elections to the people of J&K for seven decades,” she said.
The meeting was also attended by Er Gh Ali Khatana, Member Rajya Sabha, Surinder Ambardaar, former MLC, Abhijeet Jasrotia spokesperson and social media in-charge, and others. It was organised by S Avtar Singh Trali, DDC member and senior BJP leader.
