Anantnag, July 27: Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) Friday conducted an awareness cum district outreach programme named “NIDHI AAPKE NIKAT” here at District Industries Centre Anantnag , on the benefits of social security schemes and insurance schemes of EPFO.
Nidhi Aapke Nikat is a monthly stakeholders interaction program by EPFO and is aimed at information exchange , handholding and grievance redressal of members/employees and employers. The program was attended by General Manager, DIC Ms Dilshada and other officers of DIC and different employers and employees of the district.
During the programme Enforcement Officer (Central) Suhail Khan (District Nodal Officer) of the EPFO gave a detailed insight about the EPF and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952 and The Schemes. The Officer elaborated in detail the provisions of the Employees’ Pension Scheme 1995 and the Employees Deposit Linked Insurance scheme, 1976 and the responsibility of departments / establishments in registering and compliance process of their employees.
The Officer stressed on expanding the net of Social Security cover to the uncovered workers and labourers especially contract workers engaged with all the government departments, and creating awareness about the benefits available to the PF members under the EPF & MP Act, 1952 and schemes framed thereunder.
The establishment/unit holders were sensitised about timely remittance of PF to avoid late payment charges and to assist their employees in availing online services provided by EPFO. They were also apprised about recent initiatives of EPFO like online services, ABRY Scheme, e-nomination facility and about different portals.
