EPFO holds facilitation ceremony using technology in Jammu

Jammu, Dec 13: Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) Jammu is setting a benchmark in member facilitation, ensuring efficient, transparent and member friendly services through technological innovations and hands on management. A facilitation ceremony was held in Jammu while using a technology to benefit hundreds of members.
A statement issued here read that return rejection is a key performance indicator, a service-oriented Organisation, like EPFO. PF Commissioner Rizwan Uddin, has made it a practice to keep the return-rejection ratio as low as possible, right from the beginning.
“In December, 2024, so far this ratio is at 16-17 percent much below than National average of 20 to 22 percent. Consistent efforts have been made personally by P F Commissioner, Rizwan Uddin to monitor claims. Necessary directions have been issued and dedicated team helps member in fulfilling minor shortcomings. Fathers’ names have been updated in significant number matters (where claims were proposed to be returned),” the statement said, adding that facilitation of this form has greatly helped thousands of members in Jammu.
About the speedy correction in member’s details, the statement said that a sizeable number of employees/workers have to update their basic details (including father’s/husband’s name). This works being facilitated through personal monitoring by P F commissioner Rizwan himself, use of WhatsApp and telephonic calls. “Objections being raised are getting analysed and suitable remedial actions are suggested as well,” the statement said.
On the employment linked incentive, the statement said that the scheme is designed to facilitate job creation and provide incentives to employers and employees. “The scheme aims to create over two crore jobs in the country in a period of two years.
“The ELI scheme aims to boost formal-sector employment. It facilitates direct benefit transfers (DBT) to employees’ Aadhaar-linked bank accounts. To qualify, employees must have an activated UAN and Aadhaar-seeded bank account,” the statement said, adding that EPF members especially the new comers can follow the steps for activating UAN online: Go to EPFO’s Member Sewa portal, Click on the Activate UAN' link under important link, Enter the required details: UAN, Aadhaar number, date of birth and mobile number linked to Aadhaar number. Employees should ensure that their correct mobile number is linked to Aadhaar. Agree to Aadhaar OTP (one time password) verification. Click on Get Authorization Pin to receive the OTP on your Aadhaar-linked mobile number. Enter the OTP to complete the activation of UAN.
It said that once the UAN is activated, a password to login to the account on the EPFO Member Sewa portal will be sent to the registered mobile number. “Once you login, you will be asked to change the password. In order to achieve the target of UAN activation under the Employment Linked Incentive (ELI) Scheme, Regional office – Jammu, to facilitate the UAN activation process, two permanent camps will be set up in the Regional office- Jammu. The camps will operate from 7.30 AM to 10.00 PM daily,” the statement said.
