Srinagar, Dec 20: In the face of multiple challenges, including resource constraints and limited manpower, the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) in Jammu has demonstrated resilience and innovation, regional P F Commissioner, Rizwan Uddin said.
He said through voluntary efforts, flexible working arrangements, and mentorship, the team has not only navigated obstacles but also achieved remarkable outcomes.
Team building initiatives have yielded positive results, boosting elated morale, a robust Responsibility Index, improved coordination, affiliation, and a heightened service orientation, he added.
Overcoming challenges inherent to government organizations, EPFO Jammu, despite constraints such as absenteeism and inadequate workforce, has seen dedicated performers stepping up, volunteering, and assuming greater responsibilities, the P F Commissioner said.
Rizwan introduced the concept of “flexi-working” which was implemented by K Ramesh, the then RC-II, and his team. Despite initial challenges, “flexi-working” became a norm, significantly enhancing productivity, he said.
P F Commissioner’s proactive leadership played a pivotal role in nudging employers to increase membership and addressing the grievances of workers.
He said EPFO Jammu’s commitment and efforts have been acknowledged with three prestigious awards in the past two years, including two National level awards for “Best Performing Remote Office” in 2022 and “Best Office for Nidhi Aapke Nikat” in November 2023.
“Persons like Sanjeev Kumar, Senior Social Security Assistant, and Mukesh Kumar, Section Supervisor, have showcased exceptional dedication, processing a significant number of claims and reducing backlogs. Their efforts exemplify the commitment to service and teamwork within the organization,” Rizwan Uddin said.
He added that with the influx of claims and the need for expanded operations, EPFO Jammu successfully implemented “flexi-working”, which has now been proposed for adoption in the Regional Office, Srinagar.
Training sessions were conducted to facilitate the transition to online working, enhancing efficiency and responsiveness.
P F Commissioner acknowledged the invaluable contributions of the team and highlighted the challenging nature of the Jammu and Ladakh posting. He commended the proactive role played by officials, emphasizing the positive impact on subscribers’ timely relief through claims processing.
“As EPFO Jammu continues to uphold a culture of volunteerism and innovation, the organisation looks forward to sustained growth and positive contributions to the welfare of subscribers,” Rizwan said.
