Jammu, June 01: Director General of Police (DGP) J&K, R R Swain on Saturday said the biggest welfare measure of the department is providing quality education to the children of personnel.
“Because all of us are very deeply mindful of the fact that the children of the police personnel lose out on parenting front due to the nature of their job and mostly they live away from family and the children,” he said after the inauguration of 5G i5 Smart Panels at JKPPS, Miran Sahib Jammu, in the presence of Prof Rasmita Das Swain, Chairperson, Management Committee, J&K PPSs/PWWA, M.N Tiwari, (IGP Armed/IRP Jammu Zone, Jammu), Suram Singh, (the Nodal Officer, J&K PPS Jammu) and Principal, PPS, Jammu Rajeev Sharma.
This marked a significant milestone in the technological advancement of the school, a police spokesperson said in a statement issued here, adding that these panels, initiated by M N Tiwari, promise to provide substantial technological support to students and teachers, enhancing the learning experience
Addressing teachers, students, and parents, the DGP outlined a vision to establish a network of schools across all districts and sub-divisions, offering a safe and nurturing environment conducive to academic and personal growth.
He reiterated the commitment of the police department to address the educational needs of children, especially those of police personnel. “Plans are underway to establish schools not only in headquarters districts but also in every district and sub-division, extending even to tehsil police levels,” he said.
DGP Swain said that to empower children through education, the police department aims to provide dedicated and competent teachers, led by equally competent principals, offering a comprehensive curriculum with a focus on academic and non-academic development. “Efforts are being made to create a supportive and inclusive environment for all students,” he said.
Acknowledging the contributions of parents, especially spouses of martyrs, Prof Rasmita Das Swain, Chairperson J&K PWWA/PPSs, highlighted the importance of parental involvement and feedback for continuous improvement. She congratulated students for their outstanding results and commended the efforts of the school in nurturing young minds.
JKPPS Administrative Officer, IGP Armed/IRP Jammu, M N Tiwari, thanked the DGP J&K and Chairperson J&K PWWA/PPSs for addressing anomalies in the salary structure of teachers. He assured effective utilization of the newly installed Smart Class Panels to enhance the quality of education.
