Srinagar, Jan 09: The Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) and the Jammu and Kashmir Lecturers’ Forum have called for immediate action on the long-delayed regularization of in-charge lecturers, some of whom have been in an uncertain employment status for over ten years.
Showkat Ahmad Bhat, Senior Vice-President of EJAC and Chief Patron of the JK Lecturers’ Forum, alongside Fayaz Ahmad Shabnum, President of EJAC, commended Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo for addressing key issues related to promotions, Departmental Promotion Committees (DPCs), and compassionate appointments under SRO-43 and RAS.
While the decision to regularize the lecturers is welcomed, both leaders expressed frustration over ongoing delays in processing critical files at the Directorates of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) and Jammu (DSEJ). These delays are preventing timely exemptions for regularization, causing financial strain for many dedicated educators.
Bhat urged DSEK and DSEJ to expedite the submission of these files to ensure the timely resolution of the cases. With clear instructions from the Chief Secretary to finalize all regularization cases by February’s end, the EJAC and JK Lecturers’ Forum remain hopeful that justice will be served, ending a decade-long ordeal for thousands of lecturers.
