Efficient public service delivery must be priority: MLA Zainapora

Shopian, Oct 24: Showkat Hussain Ganie, Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Zainapora, on Thursday chaired an introductory and review meeting with district and sectoral officers here.
District Development Commissioner (DDC) Shopian, Mohammad Shahid Saleem Dar, was also present at the event. Officers presented department-wise activities, development, and welfare initiatives being undertaken in the Zainapora Assembly Constituency.
Achievements and ongoing works under District Capex for 2023-24 and 2024-25 were highlighted during the review meeting. The MLA reviewed various developmental issues related to road connectivity, water supply, health sector initiatives and upgrades, school education, irrigation canal networks, rural development, horticulture, agriculture works and schemes, and other public concerns.
The MLA highlighted the importance of projecting developmental demands with meticulous planning based on community feedback. He said efficient public service delivery must be a priority and called for the realization of the agricultural, industrial, and tourism potential of the district to the fullest.
Earlier, the DDC provided an overview of the district profile, vital projects under execution, and various governance initiatives being implemented in the district.
The meeting was attended by ADDC Dr Nasir Ahmad Lone and various district and sectoral officers.
