Shopian, Jan 20: Seven days MSME Sponsored Existing management development programme on “Architectural engineering in high density apple orchards organised by Division of Fruit Science, SKUAST-Kashmir, Shalimar and Ambri Apple Research Centre, Shopian concluded on Saturday at Shopian.
The aim of the programme was to impart cutting edge skill to the participants in canopy management of high-density apple orchards. During the training programme various lectures were delivered and Practical demonstrations were held by the resource persons. Thirty unemployed youth/apple growers of district Shopian actively participated in the training The trainees were highly satisfied and thankful to organising institute and the coordinators for conducting such important programme.
The coordinator Dr Mohd Amin Mir Professor Fruit science acknowledged the huge response of participants and thanked the MSME, Govt of India for sponsoring the event and lauded the efforts of Vice Chancellor SKUAST Kashmir and Director planning and Monitoring for developing environment of entrepreneurship and start-ups among the people.
The I/C Head Ambri Apple Research Centre Dr. Hamidullah Itoo highlighted the importance and future perspective of such programmes in making high density orcharding a grand success in Jammu and Kashmir. Dr Khursheed Ahmad Sheikh Scientist Entomology in addition of delivering detailed lectures played a vital role in conducting the programme successfully.
