Jammu, May 13: The officers and the officials of the Directorate of Youth Services and Sports J&K, Joint Director YSS office Jammu and District YSS office Jammu, Tuesday observed a two-minute silence to condole the sudden demise of Varinder Sharma, a responsible employee of the department.
The condolence meeting was chaired by the Director General Youth Services and Sports, Rajinder Singh Tara, wherein a solemn tribute was paid to Varinder Sharma, a dedicated Physical Education Master and Judo Coach, who left an indelible mark on the sports fraternity of J&K. Sharma’s untimely passing on Monday after a brief illness has left a void in the department, and his colleagues and friends are deeply saddened by the loss. As the Incharge Warden of the Youth Hostel Nagrota Jammu, Sharma’s commitment to his work and his passion for sports has inspired countless young athletes. His humility, expertise, and dedication earned him immense respect and admiration within the department. Commissioner Secretary to Government Youth Services and Sports Department, Sarmad Hafeez in his condolence message said: “Varinder Sharma was a responsible official, who served the Department in different capacities, yielding better results. May his noble soul rest in peace”. The Director General YSS expressed profound grief over Mr. Sharma’s sudden demise, remembering him as a capable employee who made significant contributions in nurturing young talent and taking care of the departmental assets as incharge warden of Youth Hostel Nagrota.
“Sharma will always be remembered for his humility and dedication towards his work. His sudden demise is personal as well as the professional loss to the Department. He immensely contributed in smooth and successful conduct of 68th National School Games hosted by the Department. May Almighty grant peace to the departed soul and courage to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss,” the Director General said. Joint Director YSS Jammu, Ved Prakash while describing the official as energetic and brave, lauded his contribution in ports promotion.
