Continuing its efforts to eradicate the drug menace from the society, Police in Ganderbal arrested a drug peddler in the jurisdiction of PP Nagbal and recovered contraband substance from his posession.
A Spokesperson said that Police Post Nagbal received information through reliable sources that one person namely Mohammad Shafi Sheikh son of Mohammad Maqbool Sheikh resident of Busserbugh, Ganderbal has concealed contraband substance at his residential house. Upon the receipt of the information, a case FIR No. 48/2025 under relevant Sections of NDPS Act was registered at PS Ganderbal.
Accordingly, a special Police team of PP Nagbal who in presence of Executive Magistrate 1st Class raided the residential house of the accused. During the search, contraband substance, 3.6Kgs of Bhang Patri along with seeds and tops was recovered, which was seized and the accused was arrested on the spot. Further investigation of the case is under process.
