In a continued crackdown against the drug menace, Budgam Police arrested drug peddler in Magam area and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
A Spokesperson said that Police Party headed by HC Ghulam Mohi-ud-din of Police Station Magam during Naka checking duty at Aripanthan intercepted one suspicious person who tried to flee from the spot, but was tactfully apprehended by police party and during his personal search 03 sticks of charas like substance wrapped in corn husk weighing about 61 grams was recovered from his possession.
“Subsequently, he was arrested on the spot for further course of action as per law and during questioning he revealed his identity as Ishfaq Ahmad Ganie S/o Ghulam Mohammad Ganie R/o Saranhal Batpora Budgam” he said.
Accordingly, a Case FIR No. 33/2025 U/S 8/20 of NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Magam and investigation has been set into motion.
Budgam Police with the support of the general public is committed to combat drug trafficking and dismantling the narcotics network in the district.
