Dr Farooq pays obeisance at Baba Nizam Ud Qiyanwi

Srinagar, June 09: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference president and Member of Parliament from Srinagar Dr Farooq Abdullah on Friday paid obeisance at the revered shrine of Hazrat Baba Mian Nizam-ud-Din Qiyanvi Naqshbandi (RA) at Baba Nagri Kangan on the occasion of the annual 127th Urs of the saint. He was received by senior party leader and Sajjada Nasheen of the shrine Mian Altaf Ahmad. 
Dr Farooq was accompanied by Additional General Secretary Dr Sheikh Mustafa Kamal and his Political Advisor Mushtaq Guroo. Joined by party functionaries, the party president prayed for lasting peace and prosperity in J&K. He also prayed for the prosperity of youth, farmers, traders and the well-being of the ailing. 
Meanwhile, Dr Farooq Abdullah also extended warm greetings to the people on the annual Urs celebration of Jami Ul Kamalaat Hazrat Ishaan Sheikh Yaqoob Sarfi (RA). 
The party president while greeting the people said, “Hazrat Ishaan Sahib (RA) was the biggest polymath of his times. He mastered various streams of literature, linguistics and Islamic knowledge. A prominent Sufi Saint of the Kubrawiya Sufi Order, he has left a remarkable influence on the various aspects of Kashmiri Sufism. He also acquired a prominent position in the political history of Kashmir. On this day I pay my glowing tributes to the great son of the soul, May the almighty Allah guide our steps with the teachings of such great men as Hazrat Ishaan Sahib (RA).” 
Meanwhile, party general secretary Haji Ali Muhammad Sagar, Senior leader Mubarak Gul and Shameema Firdous have also greeted people on the annual urs celebration of Hazrat Ishaan. The leaders prayed for peace and prosperity in the region.
