Srinagar, Dec 03: The annual birth anniversary of “Baba-e-Qoum”, Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah will be observed on December 05 at his Mazar-e-Anwar, Naseem Bagh in Hazratbal, Srinagar.
Party president Dr Farooq Abdullah and vice president & Chief Minister Omar Abdullah will lead the party rank and file in offering floral tributes and Fatiha on the occasion, the NC said in a statement issued here.
“The commemorative function will commence from 10.30 am. Later, a majlis of Durood-o-Azkar will be held at the Tasbeeh Khana in the shrine premises where party functionaries, workers and people from different walks of life will recite the holy Quran,” the statement said.
The party said that similar commemorative events will be held at all district headquarters across Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh to mark the 119th birth anniversary of Sher-e-Kashmir. “Party functionaries will pay tribute to him, recognising his significant contributions in shaping the democratic character of the region,” it said.
