Srinagar, Jan 01: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) president Dr Farooq Abdullah on Wednesday commended the Omar Abdullah-led government’s “efforts in alleviating public hardships” following a significant snowfall.
Dr Abdullah, according to a party statement issued here, highlighted the “significant impact of the party MLAs and Chief Minister’s extensive public outreach”.
“Their efforts have greatly alleviated the hardships faced by the people and helped restore a sense of normalcy in Kashmir and the winter zones of Jammu following heavy snowfall,” he said.
The NC chief hailed Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for “personally overseeing the restorative efforts, including snow clearance, restoration of power and water supply and replenishment of ration supply”. The outreach has had a positive impact on the ground, he added.
Dr Farooq urged the administration to continue its efforts and promptly address the needs of the people in Chenab region.
Meanwhile, Dr Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah have expressed deep sorrow over the demise of senior retired agriculture officer and senior party member of Banihal, Khawaja Muhammad Afzal Wani.
They offered prayers for peace to the departed soul and strength to the grieving family. Reflecting on the late Wani sahib’s contributions, they said his legacy of public service will be cherished for generations to come.
Among others, Party General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar, Additional General Secretary Dr Sheikh Mustafa Kamal, Advisor to CM Nasir Aslam Wani, Treasurer Shammi Oberoi, Chief Spokesperson Tanvir Sadiq, Political Advisors Mushtaq Guroo, Mudassar Shahmiri also extended condolences to the bereaved household.
