Srinagar, Jul 19: Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board chairperson and Minister of State, Syed Darakhshan Andrabi, on Saturday visited the historic Barah Sadaat Shrine at Tailbal to review upcoming upgradation projects slated to be undertaken by the board. During her visit, Andrabi paid her respects at the shrine and engaged with local residents and civil society members, listening to their suggestions and concerns regarding infrastructure development.Accompanied by a team of Waqf officials and engineers, she assessed the feasibility of the proposed developmental works and emphasised the importance of timely execution. The locals expressed gratitude for her previous initiatives at the shrine and assured their full support for the upcoming projects.Dr Darakhshan instructed the Waqf authorities to prioritise the shrine’s upgradation to ensure that work commences promptly, aligned with community needs. Addressing the gathering, she highlighted the spiritual significance of Sufi traditions, stating, “Our Sufi spiritual legacy is our strength as a society. It is our collective responsibility to promote and preserve this heritage.”She added, “We are tirelessly working as a motivated team to upgrade facilities at all shrines throughout J&K. Our Sufi centres are once again in the limelight, and we must work together to promote Sufi thought and values.”Prominent civil society members present included Ali Mohammad Kutoo, Molvi Naseer Ahmad Makhdoomi, and Gulzar Ahmad Kutoo, among others, who expressed their support for the ongoing and future initiatives.
