Srinagar, July 15: From the lush meadows of Suru Valley to the rugged majesty of Zanskar, students of Delhi Public School, Srinagar recently undertook a remarkable journey that blended nature, culture, adventure, and personal growth in the most enriching way.As per a statement, a group of 40 enthusiastic Class XII students, accompanied by teachers  Basharat,  Abraq, Ummat and Mudasir, along with non-teaching staff  Manoj and Abrar and supported by five dedicated drivers, travelled deep into the heart of Ladakh from July 3 to 8

A Journey Through Nature and Heritage   The expedition began in the spectacular Suru Valley at Panikhar, where students were welcomed by snow-capped peaks, crisp mountain air, and the tranquil charm of the Himalayas. It was here that they first connected deeply with nature, setting the tone for what would become a transformative experience. The journey then led the group into the mystical Zanskar Valley, a land known for its untouched beauty, ancient traditions, and warm hospitality. Here, students explored some of the region’s most iconic and spiritually significant sites– Zangla Palace – A historic hilltop fortress that offered panoramic views of the valley and insights into Zanskar’s royal past. Karsha Monastery – The largest monastery in the region, where students experienced monastic life, rituals, and a moment of quiet reflection. Sheela Village and Waterfall – A hidden retreat where the group enjoyed playful moments, natural beauty, and meaningful conversations amid cascading waters. Sani Lake – A serene mountain lake that served as the perfect setting for introspection, bonding, and group activities.Beyond the scenic views and cultural landmarks, the trip became a profound journey of self-discovery. Students participated in treks, local interactions, and cultural exchanges that challenged their endurance, deepened their empathy, and broadened their understanding of life beyond urban borders. From evenings under starry skies to quiet mornings beside mountain streams, the students returned with hearts full of memories, a greater appreciation for heritage and resilience, and a newfound sense of responsibility and camaraderie.

A School That Believes in Holistic Learning    Delhi Public School, Srinagar continues to lead by example in providing students with experiences that go beyond the classroom. Speaking about the trip, a school official remarked, “These are the experiences that shape character, build leadership, and ignite curiosity. At DPS Srinagar, we are proud to foster such journeys that nurture informed, compassionate, and confident young minds.” What began as an adventure into the wild became a lesson in courage, connection, and the joy of exploration—a journey these students will carry for a lifetime.
