In light of the upcoming Urs of Dastgeer Sahab (RA), Amir Bhat, the District President of Srinagar and Constituency Incharge of Khanyar for the Democratic Progressive Azad Party, has earnestly requested the esteemed administration, with a specific focus on the LG administration and the District Srinagar administration, to ensure the provision of basic amenities for the benefit of the local residents.

Bhat stressed the importance of ensuring that Srinagar, a city rich in history and culture, hosts a considerable number of devotees and visitors during the Urs of Dastgeer Sahab (RA).

He said, “Amid the growing challenges faced by the residents of Srinagar, one of the foremost concerns is the scarcity of electricity. Despite the installation of smart meters, the city continues to grapple with a severe shortage of electricity. This shortage poses a major hurdle for the daily lives of the citizens, and during important religious events like the Urs, it becomes even more critical to address this issue.”

F”urthermore, provision of clean and uninterrupted water supply, as well as efficient transport facilities, are integral aspects that need to be addressed by the administration. It is essential that these basic services are made available to the residents, ensuring that they do not face undue hardships during the Urs”, he said.

Amir Bhat appeals to the LG administration and District Srinagar administration to take cognizance of these issues and take immediate measures to mitigate the difficulties faced by the citizens of Srinagar. By ensuring a consistent supply of electricity, water, and adequate transport services, the administration can contribute to the smooth and peaceful observance of the Urs of Dastgeer Sahab (RA) and alleviate the day-to-day struggles of the residents
