Srinagar, Aug 16: A doctor has been suspended at the District Hospital Bandipora for failing to attend duty, due to patient care was adversely affected.According to an official order issued by the Medical Superintendent, Dr Sabia was scheduled to be on duty on August 14, 2025. However, she did not attend her post, which compromised patient care at the hospital. The order further states that despite receiving clear written instructions to attend the Independence Day celebrations on August 15, 2025, she remained absent without any prior notice or official approval.”On 15-08-2025, despite clear and written instructions to attend Independence Day celebrations, you remained absent without any prior intimation or authorisation,” the order said.The administration has viewed such conduct seriously, as it amounts to disrespect and disregard for the national event and reflects indiscipline unbecoming of a government servant.“Now, therefore, in exercise of powers conferred under Rule 31 of Jammu & Kashmir Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1956, read with Article 128 of the Jammu & Kashmir Civil Service Regulations, pending enquiry into the matter, Dr Sabia Salam, Medical Officer, is hereby placed under suspension with immediate effect,” it said.As per the order, during the suspension period, Dr Sabia shall remain attached with the Head of Department, Ophthalmology, District Hospital Bandipora, and will be entitled to subsistence allowance as admissible under rules.
