Div Com reviews finalisation of arrangements at Yatri Niwas

JAMMU, JUNE 24:  In preparation for the annual Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2023, Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar, conducted a visit to the Yatri Niwas at Bhagwati Nagar today to oversee the finalization of arrangements at the Jammu base camp. Accompanied by senior officers from relevant departments, the Divisional Commissioner conducted a thorough inspection of the Yatri Niwas complex, assessing the arrangements in place to ensure the comfortable stay and safety of the pilgrims.
Among the officials accompanying the Divisional Commissioner were Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Avny Lavasa; Commissioner JMC, Rahul Yadav; SSP Jammu, SSP Traffic, SSP Security, Joint Director Tourism, and other senior officers from Health, CRPF, Jal Shakti, PWD, JPDCL, and other concerned departments.
During the visit, the Joint Director Tourism briefed the Divisional Commissioner on the progress of various works undertaken in the Yatri Niwas premises to enhance the facilities. It was reported that the face-lifting and renovation of Yatri Niwas had been successfully completed. The Divisional Commissioner emphasized the need to further improve all basic amenities to ensure that pilgrims do not face any inconvenience during the Yatra.
To achieve this goal, the Divisional Commissioner urged the departments involved to coordinate closely and make adequate provisions for basic necessities well in advance. He issued instructions for regular sanitation, provision of clean drinking water, and other logistical arrangements throughout the Yatra.
Regarding security arrangements, the CRPF informed the Divisional Commissioner that all checkpoints had been reinforced and sufficient personnel would be deployed well ahead of the Yatra’s commencement.
In terms of sanitation facilities, the Commissioner JMC assured the Divisional Commissioner that an adequate number of sanitation workers had been deployed to ensure regular cleanliness of the Yatri Niwas and its surroundings.
Moreover, the Divisional Commissioner instructed the concerned departments to expedite the barricading work and ensure its timely completion. He also inspected the parking area, spaces for registration counters, and langar sites, issuing specific directives to ensure the smooth conduct of the Yatra.
Expressing the need for swift progress, the Divisional Commissioner urged the departments involved to accelerate their efforts and ensure the early completion of all pending works.
The preparations for the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2023 are well underway, with the Divisional Commissioner actively overseeing the arrangements. With a focus on pilgrims’ comfort and safety, the authorities are leaving no stone unturned to make this year’s Yatra a memorable and fulfilling experience for all devotees.nd issued specific directions for ensuring smooth conduct of Yatra.
