SRINAGAR, MAR 17: Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, convened a meeting today to review the arrangements for the opening of Asia’s largest Tulip Garden and to ensure a smooth experience for visitors during the Tulip Festival season.
Located at the foothills of Zabarwan, the Tulip Garden is a favourite destination for tourists in April. It will open to the public in the last week of March, as the 17.5 lakh tulip bulbs have begun to bloom gradually.
Addressing the meeting, the Divisional Commissioner directed a comprehensive publicity cam-paign to promote the opening of the famous Tulip Garden. He emphasised the need to communi-cate the timings and the online booking process for tickets, which will be available via the official website of the Floriculture Department.
Meanwhile, he urged the Floriculture Department to ensure that the garden remains open from 6:00 am to 8:00 pm.
The Divisional Commissioner also instructed Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) officials to conduct regular sanitation drives to keep the garden and surrounding areas clean and free from litter. He emphasized the installation of an adequate number of dustbins within the garden.
Additionally, he directed SMC to make the existing toilet block functional and ensure the availa-bility of mobile toilet facilities outside the garden.
Divisional Commissioner, Bidhuri also highlighted the importance of efficient parking manage-ment at the Botanical Garden to accommodate a maximum number of vehicles. He instructed SSP Traffic to ensure smooth traffic flow, especially on holidays and Sundays when the number of visitors—both tourists and locals—tends to increase significantly.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Dr. Bilal Mohi ud Din Bhat; Di-rector Floriculture, Shakeel ul Rehman; SSP Traffic Srinagar, Muzaffar Shah; Joint Commissioner SMC; and other officials from the Floriculture Department.
