Srinagar Sept 26: To boost the ongoing Ayushmaan Bhav campaign, Director Health Services Kashmir, Dr Mushtaq Ahmed Rather on Tuesday visited three Central Kashmir districts including Srinagar, Budgam and Ganderbal and took review of Ayushmaan Bhavan campaign.

The director started his tour from PHC Batamaloo where he interacted with zonal Medical Officer’s, Medical Officer’s, paramedics, ASHA workers and stressed them to work with dedication and make the program successful.

He asked employees to reach out to each and every individual in every nook and corner so that no one is left out.

He said that people should be made aware about the services and schemes being provided by the Government of India for the benefit of people.

The director later took review of Ayushman Bhav at CMO Office Ganderbal wherein Divisional and District Level Officers along with block officers and field workers were present.

A spokesman of the health department said that the director stressed on the health functionaries for optimal utilisation of all the services to achieve the target set under Ayushman Bhav, which is envisaged to saturate all health care services in every village/ town in line with the commitment of Prime Minister of India to ensure access to health care services to everyone in the society.

Similarly, the DHSK reviewed Ayushman Bhav in Budgam where senior officials participated in the meeting. The programme was attended by CMO Budgam Dr. Mohammad Ayub, MS DH Mohammad Iqbal, Dy. CMO Dr Tehmeena Bukhari, ASYM DH Budgam, DIO, DTO, BMOs All & DPMU staff Budgam.

The director said that ABHA ID will help in keeping note of health records that will help in future as whenever patients visit a doctor they will have to show a card where every record will be saved.

“People can use the card anywhere in India. Everything is becoming digital, so everyone must come forward for the ABHA card and once this card becomes fully functional, we will start issuing appointments in hospitals through this card, so as to get rid of the long-standing issue of waiting in queues,” he said.

“People will get a card from the nearest health facility and benefit from this facility,” he added.

Notably, the Ayushman Bhav campaign is a comprehensive nationwide healthcare initiative of the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare that aims to provide saturation coverage of healthcare services, reaching every village and town in the country. This campaign will be implemented during the ‘Seva Pakhwada’ from September 17 to October 2, 2023.
