Srinagar, Sept 24: Director Health Services, Kashmir (DHSK), Dr Jehangir Bakshi on Tuesday visited the far flung and remotest areas of Gurez Block of District Bandipora to assess the status of health care delivery systems in forward areas.
A spokesman of DHSK said during the visit, the director inspected CHC Dawar, PHC Sheikhpora, PHC Budogam, AAM-SC Badouab and AAM-SC Angaikot to have a first-hand account of healthcare facilities available for the patients.
He reviewed all health care institutes with a focus on status of HR, medicines, national schemes and assessment of measures required for upgradation of these facilities.
At Dawar, the director addressed various issues and assured the general public that an eye camp will be organized at CHC Dawar very soon that would provide relief to patients.
During the interaction with the locals at PHC Badogam, he assured them that the concerned construction agency shall be approached for handing over of the new maternity block and fencing of the PHC on top priority.
At PHC Sheikhpora, the director assured of providing 4×4 ambulance at the earliest along with operationalization of high-end equipment for better patient care.
The director also instructed that a refresher course for ASHA workers on Induction Module (I to V) and other more capacity building workshops should be organized for smooth functioning of the ASHA functionality of the Block.
On this occasion DHSK was apprised that all JSY payments and ASHA incentives have been cleared. The DHSK also interacted with Director Family Welfare J&K, Dr Tajamul Hussain Khan who was touring Gurez Valley.
Both the HODs mutually agreed to improve coordination between the departments in order to facilitate and upgrade healthcare delivery systems in the remote areas of Gurez valley.
Director Health was accompanied by BMO Gurez, Dr Tahira Nazir and other senior officers/officials of Block Gurez.
