Baramulla, April 05 : Maqsood-ul-Zaman, IPS, Deputy Inspector General of Police, North Kashmir Range (NKR) Baramulla, today conducted a detailed security audit of Baramulla, Hamrey, and Pattan Railway Stations. He was accompanied by Gurinderpal Singh, SSP Baramulla and respective territorial officers from JKP, GRP, RPF and CAPF during the visit.
The purpose of the visit was to assess the security preparedness and review existing arrangements at all the railway stations in the district.
Comprehensive inspection of the premises, including passenger areas, surveillance systems, entry and exit points, and critical infrastructure was carried out.
DIG NKR emphasized the importance of maintaining high standards of security, especially in public transportation hubs. He directed that all security gaps be identified and addressed promptly.
The need for enhanced surveillance, increased patrolling, and improved coordination among Railway Police, district police, and other agencies was strongly stressed.
The officer also interacted with station authorities and police personnel deployed at these locations, taking stock of their feedback and challenges on ground. The DIG appreciated the efforts of the police and encouraged proactive measures to ensure the safety and security of passengers.
This security audit is part of an ongoing initiative to strengthen the overall security architecture of vital public infrastructure in North Kashmir.
