Srinagar, Nov 10: Directorate of Health Services Kashmir (DHSK) on Friday rebutted the reports about the non-functioning of heating systems in Kashmir hospitals.
Director of Health Services Kashmir Dr Mushtaq Ahmad Rather said that all heating systems presently are in place. ACs, heaters and gas heaters are functioning in all critical areas like labour rooms, theatres, newborn beds, etc.
The reports being circulated on social media are baseless and there is no need to pay heed to them, he said.
Spokesperson of DHSK Dr Mir Mushtaq said that DHSK had already issued a circular in this regard and heating arrangements have been made wherever required.
He said that a circular vide order no PS/DHSK/2023/6952-7033 dated 07-11-2023 had been issued wherein concerned authorities were directed to make heating arrangements and accordingly they were made.
“Usually, the central heating systems are being made functional on November 15; however, officials have disbursing powers and have been given authority to use the system whenever they feel necessary,” the spokesperson said.
“In view of the unpredictable nature of our weather, we have kept many alternative arrangements in place to face any kind of exigency,” he added.
