Jammu, July 21: The Director General of Youth Services and Sports, J&K, Anuradha Gupta, Monday flagged off the J&K contingent for the Inter-State Youth Exchange Programme (YEP), scheduled to commence Tuesday in Kurukshetra, Haryana.As per a statement issued here, the 30-member delegation, comprising 23 young participants and 7 escorting officials from the department, departed from the Sports Training Centre/Base Camp, Nagrota. The contingent will participate in Folk Song, Folk Dance, and a PowerPoint Presentation (PPT) on cultural heritage, showcasing the vibrant traditions of Jammu and Kashmir.Anuradha was accompanied by Joint Director YSS Jammu, Vinakshi Koul; Deputy Director YSS Central, Jitender Mishra; Deputy Director Planning, Megha Bogia, Accounts Officer Directorate, Sunil Kotwal, and Nodal Officer of the contingent, Altaf Hussain Bhat. She emphasised that such programmes provide invaluable exposure, enabling young minds to embrace new perspectives and learn from best practices across the nation. She further assured that the department is committed to expanding such initiatives, creating more frequent opportunities for youth engagement and cultural exchange.”The youth are the pillars of the nation and serve as messengers of peace, harmony, and prosperity,” she noted. Anuradha concluded with a thought-provoking quote: “What the youth can achieve in ten years, will take the elderly a thousand years.”
