Ganderbal, June 14: The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), J&K, brought its flagship campaign ‘Democracy on Wheels’ to Ganderbal, creating buzz at the Entrepreneurship Mela with a vibrant display of voter awareness activities.
The high-tech IEC Van, featuring LED screens, interactive kiosks, and audio-visual content, drew enthusiastic crowds. Informative videos on voter rights, registration, and the role of women in democracy captured the attention of students, entrepreneurs and locals. Deputy Commissioner Jatin Kishore and Additional District Development Commissioner visited the van, highlighting the importance of civic participation and the administration’s commitment to electoral literacy, especially among youth.
Under the SVEEP initiative, the campaign—led by SVEEP Nodal Officer Akhtar Hussain Qazi—aims to boost voter engagement across the UT. Ganderbal is the latest stop after impactful outreach in Jammu, Budgam, and Srinagar. “Integrating voter awareness with public events empowers citizens both economically and democratically,” said Mohammad Altaf Ganie. The mobile initiative continues to bridge the gap between electoral institutions and the public, promoting an informed and participatory democracy.
