Srinagar, Apr 30: Abdul Ahad Azad Memorial (AAAM) Degree College Bemina Srinagar, in collaboration with the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICAI), organized a one day “CMA Super 50” Convention, here.
The event was presided over by Prof. Yasmeen Ashai, Director Colleges, J&K who served as the Chief Guest.
In her address, Prof. Ashai emphasized the crucial role of skill acquisition in navigating today’s competitive job market and improving employability and career prospects. She also highlighted the substantial funds dedicated to fostering academic excellence and innovation in the Higher Education Department of Jammu and Kashmir.
Prof. (Dr.) Nazir Ahmad Simnani, Principal AAAM Degree College Bemina emphasized the college’s commitment of going beyond traditional academic curriculum to provide students with opportunities for personal and professional development.
Dr. Aabida Akhtar, Head of the Department of Commerce, highlighted the diverse nature of the department’s courses and its significant impact, noting the vibrant community of students, scholars, and alumni serving in various capacities nationally and internationally.
Bibhuti Bushan Naik, Vice President, Institute of Cost Accountants of India, reaffirmed his commitment to empowering Kashmiri students with access to quality education and skill development opportunities through various certificate courses tailored to meet job requirements.
Additionally, Bashir Ahmad Masoodi, Chairman Srinagar chapter CMA and the first cost accountant of Kashmir, shed light on the pressing issue of the scarcity of cost accountants in Kashmir compared to the rest of the country.
