Poonch, July 23: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Vikas Kundal, Wednesday conducted a comprehensive visit to multiple sites across the district to inspect the current status of landslide-prone and flood-affected areas, as well as to assess the status of essential services.A statement issued here said that the Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by Chief Medical Officer, Tehsildar Haveli, Tehsildar Mandi, Xen irrigation Flood Control besides other concerned officers.During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner inspected the health care services at Primary Health Centre (PHC) Chandak and the Health Centre at Chaktroo. He reviewed the healthcare arrangements, including patient care services and the status of ongoing vaccination drives, ensuring readiness in the wake of prevailing weather-related challenges. To conduct detailed inspection of vulnerable riverbed zones, the Deputy Commissioner visited Drungali, Dingla, and adjoining areas. He assessed the flood situation and flow levels of water bodies, issuing strict instructions to the concerned Executive Engineer to maintain active monitoring of these areas. He also urged the public to refrain from venturing into riverbeds and other landslide-prone zones for their safety. Further, the Deputy Commissioner visited the Revenue Complex and the Power Station in Chandak, where he evaluated the stock position, infrastructure condition, and availability of lighting and other utilities. Emphasising preparedness, he directed all concerned departments to ensure robust arrangements, particularly in the areas of healthcare, electricity, water supply, and emergency response, during this period of heightened vulnerability due to inclement weather.
