Jammu, Nov 30: Music Maestro Abhay Rustum Sopori has composed the title music for the prestigious International ABU TV Song Festival 2022. India was selected as the host country this year and represented by the National Network Doordarshan at the festival.
A grand function held at Sri Fort Auditorium, New Delhi and organised by the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union was witnessed by delegations from over 50 countries. Sopori composed the title song and additionally two montage films on Delhi as the host State and India as the host country. Sopori said that he felt honoured for being invited as the composer for the prestigious festival.
ABU TV Song Festival is an Annual gala, which showcases music by artists across Asia. Participating countries are invited to submit a song, which they perform in front of a live audience.
Abhay has more than 50 notable releases to his credit and has composed music for a number of documentaries, telefilms, short films, serials and also national and international award winning films including ‘Mahatma’, a film by Government of India on Mahatma Gandhi, presented at the United Nations marking the first International Non-violence Day in 2007. His music in the Bollywood film ‘Shikara’ and web series ‘Tanaav’ have been lauded for bringing authentic sounds of Kashmir in commercial cinema and OTT platforms.
