Budgam, Dec 30: The Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Akshay Labroo on Saturday inaugurated a one-day job fair which was organised by the District Employment & Counseling Centre at Govt. Boys Higher Secondary School Ichgam Budgam.
The 20 reputed private companies with more than 250 job vacancies participated in the job fair. However, some government departments, which implement various self-employment schemes, had also set up kiosks for the demonstration of their schemes.
The companies on the job fair have shortlisted 385 job seekers for the second round on the basis of merit, eligibility and requirement.
During the day-long event 327 offline registrations were also done and 187 candidates were registered for skill development courses.
The Deputy commissioner of Budgam, Askhay Labroo also interacted with the representatives of various job providing companies. During interaction with various stakeholders.
While speaking to the Reporters, Deputy Commissioner of Budgam, Akshay Labroo said that to provide job opportunities for the unemployed youth of the Budgam district, the three-job fair has been organised in the Budgam district. In which the unemployed educated youth are getting jobs to work with the various reputed companies.
“On the directions of the Lieutenant Governor Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha, the district administration Budgam in collaboration with District Employment & Counseling Centre Budgam has organised three job fair events till this date and we are going to organise more job fair events in other areas which includes Beerwah, Khansahib and Chadoora. So, the unemployed youths from these areas will receive job opportunities through these job fair events,” Labroo said.
DC Budgam said that we are also going to do analysis of the skills which is very important for youths through these youth will get selected into these companies.
“We will also provide these skills to our youths which is very necessary for youths to work into the private companies. So, the unemployed youths from the Budgam district will also receive their jobs into the private companies,” he added.
