Baramulla, Oct 22: In order to regulate and ensure additional parking facilities for upcoming winter season in Tourist resort Gulmarg, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar conducted late-night visit to Tangmarg regarding identification of additional parking space for the convenience of the tourists and general public.
During the visit, Dr Sehrish identified four desirable sites for which she directed SDM to come up with a detailed plan so that the sites are utilized for parking facilities.
On the occasion, the DC informed that the long pending demand of people regarding parking facilities has been monitored and will be realised soon to ensure the adequate and additional parking facilities in Tangmarg.
Highlighting the tourism perspectives, the DC called for making joint efforts to streamline and improve the traffic system in the high congested area besides steps to be taken to curb nuisance of wrong parking and roadside encroachments.
While interacting with the representatives of different trade bodies, the DC asked them to cooperate with the Administration in ensuring smooth regulation of traffic in the city particularly on congested and heavy traffic routes to overcome traffic jams.
Meanwhile, various other issues  hampering the overall development of the area were discussed with the DC during which necessary instructions were given to the concerned officers for their time-bound redressal.
The DC was accompanied by Sub Divisional Megistrate Tangmarg, Executive Officer,  MC Tangmarg and other concerned functionaries
