Baramulla, Jul 24: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, on Thursday, chaired a meeting of the Building Operations Controlling Authority (BOCA) of GDA at the DC Office Complex, Baramulla to review key agenda points related to planning and construction activities under the jurisdiction of the Gulmarg Development Authority (GDA).
CEO GDA presented the agenda points in front of the committee and threadbare deliberations were held on all issues, and members put their views on issues.
The meeting focused on thorough deliberation of 13 agenda points, which include scrutiny of building permission applications, evaluation of zoning compliance, discussion on constructions in restricted areas, and enforcement of building bylaws as per the Master Plan.
During the meeting, DC Baramulla underlined the importance of maintaining transparency, preventing unauthorised constructions, and streamlining the permission process. He directed all department heads to ensure inter-departmental coordination for the timely and lawful disposal of all applications and ensure the implementation of the master plan in letter and spirit.
Officers from the concerned departments present in the meeting provided inputs on technical, legal, and environmental aspects. Each case was assessed on merit, with emphasis on ensuring that all proposed constructions align with approved planning guidelines and ensure the construction is focused by following building bylaws.
Chief Executive Officer, Gulmarg Development Authority, Superintendent Engineers R&B, Sub Divisional Magistrates Gulmarg, Divisional Forest Officer Tangmarg, Ecology & Environment Head, and others were present in the meeting. The Chief Town Planner Kashmir and the Director Ecology and Environment, Kashmir, joined the meeting through virtual mode.
