The event was attended by Principal GMC Baramulla, Dr. Ruby Reshi and Medical Superintendent of Associated Hospital GMC Baramulla, Dr. Syed Parvaiz Masood, along with other dignitaries, healthcare professionals, and media representatives.

The two MRD Blocks have been developed with significant funding to improve patient record management and reduce the public rush at the hospital. One block, worth ₹42 lakhs, was funded under the Aspirational District Programme, while the other block, worth ₹56 lakhs, was constructed under the GMC Capex Budget. These facilities aim to streamline operations and enhance service delivery at the hospital.

The VDRL facility, established under an ICMR project with funding of ₹1 crore, is equipped with advanced diagnostic tools and will cater to the healthcare needs of the entire North Kashmir region, focusing on the diagnosis and management of venereal diseases.

While addressing the media, Deputy Commissioner Minga Sherpa highlighted the regional significance of GMC Baramulla, stating:”GMC Baramulla caters not only to Baramulla district but to patients from across North Kashmir. These new facilities will undoubtedly help manage the growing patient rush. Additionally, under the Aspirational District Programme, we have constructed a waiting hall to provide comfort to visiting patients and their attendants.Under a CSR initiative, we are also working on augmenting the Dialysis Center to enhance healthcare services further.”

Principal GMC Baramulla, Dr. Ruby Reshi, expressed gratitude to the district administration for its support and reiterated the institution’s commitment to providing high-quality healthcare services. Medical Superintendent Dr. Syed Parvaiz Masood highlighted the positive impact of the new facilities on patient care and hospital operations.
