CUK holds 29th executive committee meet

New Delhi, Jan 19: The 29th meeting of the Executive Council (EC) of the Central University of Kashmir (CUK) was held in New Delhi with Vice-Chancellor, Prof. A Ravinder Nath in the chair.
The meeting was attended by members including, Dr. Ravi Shankar Rai, Special Secretary to the Govt. (J&K) Higher Education Department, Mr. Mriganka Sekhar Sarma, from University Grants Commission (UGC), Prof. Ajay Kumar Singh, Department of Commerce, Delhi School of Economics, Prof. Vandana Mishra, Professor, School of International Studies, JNU, Prof. Shahid Rasool, Dean Academic Affairs, Prof. Abdul Gani, Head Department of Management Studies and Dean School of Languages, and Prof. M Afzal Zargar Registrar, (secretary of EC).
Addressing the EC members, Prof. A Ravinder Nath, gave an overview about the working of the university and informed the members about numerous measures and steps taken to further improve upon the administrative, academics, and research ecosystem of the university. He referred to the progress made in the recent past. Prof. A Ravinder Nath, during the interaction provided an overview on campus development (constructions) and informed the members that the executing agencies have been strictly told to complete the works within the stipulated time frame.
The Executive Council approved the revised Masterplan and the DPR for Construction of buildings under Phase-1 which was earlier recommended by the University Building Committee (UBC) and the Finance Committee. Besides, other construction work as approved by the UBC, FC and other bodies were also approved.
The Audited Annual Accounts of the University along with Separate Audit Report for the year 2022-23 and the action taken by the Vice Chancellor, regarding the same, was ratified, for placing the reports in both Houses of the Parliament.
The Student Aid Fund (SAF) Policy framed by the University for granting relief to poor, needy and meritorious students was also approved during the meeting along with the Credit linked Fee structure which is aligned with the NEP-2020. Besides, the facility of providing Group Personal Accidental Insurance to the students was also approved.
Registrar, Prof. M Afzal Zargar presented the agenda items during the meeting.
