Srinagar, Aug 14: The city of Srinagar witnessed a spectacular display of patriotism and unity as the Srinagar North unit of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) marked the culmination of the ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebrations with an exuberant bike rally and a breathtaking Tiranga boat rally.
In a fitting tribute to 75 years of Indian independence, the Range Srinagar North CRPF organized a vibrant bike rally on Monday, starting from Badiayari Chowk and culminating at Lalit Ghat. The event was graced by the enthusiastic participation of CRPF personnel, civilians, and tourists, who united with smiles on their faces and chants of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai, Vandemataram.”
Adding to the fervor, a stunning Tiranga rally was organized by the 144 Bn and water wing CRPF on the picturesque Dal Lake. CRPF boats and traditional Kashmiri shikaras came together to create a mesmerizing display against the backdrop of the valley. Shri Jaidev Kesri, DIGP CRPF (North Srinagar), flagged off the rally, which stood as a testament to the unwavering patriotic spirit of the nation. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from both locals and tourists, forging a sense of togetherness and pride.
During the event, DIGP Jaidev Kesri shared insightful remarks, underscoring the significance of the occasion and the themes of “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” and “Meri Mati Mera Desh.” These themes, he noted, pay homage to the freedom struggle and the deep-rooted connection between the land and its people.
The successful execution of these remarkable events was made possible by the dedication and hard work of the CRPF’s Srinagar North Range Battalion, who tirelessly ensured the seamless organization of the rallies. Nadeem Ahmad Samdani, Commandant of the 144 Battalion CRPF, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all participants, officers, and civilians who contributed to the success of the event.
In a touching gesture, DIGP Jaidev Kesri and D.K Singh DIG Srinagar Sector HQ presented certificates of appreciation to the shikarawalas, the skilled boatmen who played a pivotal role in creating this memorable spectacle. The event was attended by the commandants of Srinagar North Range Unit and the families of CRPF officers and men.
As the festivities came to a close, the harmonious blend of patriotism, natural beauty, and the spirit of unity that graced the serene waters of Dal Lake is sure to be etched in the memories of all those who were fortunate enough to witness this extraordinary celebration.
