Jammu, May 07: Continuing its efforts to crackdown on those involved in drug menace, the Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) has disengaged three Special Police Officers (SPOs) from services for their involvement in drug trade and dereliction of duties.
“Separate Departmental Inquiries have been going on against these SPOs and other officials and the action has been taken on the basis of recommendations of the inquiry officer,” SSP Samba, Vinay Kumar said.
The two SPOs namely, Daljeet Singh No 633/DS and SPO Bali Ram No. 494/DS have been disengaged in case FIR No 93/2023 registered at Police Station Ramgarh in which an accused arrested in gruesome murder case had escaped from the Police custody, the spokesman said.
The SPOs have been disengaged from for dereliction of duties on the basis of recommendations of the Inquiry Officer, the SSP said.
The third SPO namely Deepak Singh was also disengaged from services for his involvement in drug trafficking. The SPO Deepak Singh No. 33/DS has been disengaged from services for his involvement in case FIR No 172/2023 registered under relevant sections of NDPS Act at Police Station Samba.
